AACIO Dinner Meeting Fall 2014
Chicago, Illinois

Venue: TBA

16 Nov 2014
Event Time: 6:00 p.m. – onward

President’s Column
Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Welcome to the spring/summer edition of the AACIO Newsletter. We are all looking forward to a great summer.

Our recent dinner meeting at the time of the ACC was a resounding success in Washington DC. This was the first time that the ACC was held at the nation’s capital. Our meeting was held in cooperation and collaboration with the Indian American Association of Physicians in the Greater Washington DC area as well as the Virginia Chapter of AAPI (VAAPI). More than 250 physicians attended the meeting. 3 Young Investigators were presented with Awards including checks for $1000 each in recognition of their outstanding work. Dr. Kris Vijay made an elegant presentation on lipid management. We are grateful to our Industry sponsors whose support makes it possible to hold our meetings.

As is evident from the ACC presentations, cardiologists of Indian Origin play a vital role in the provision of Cardiovascular care as well as academic leadership and research in the United States. We are proud of our colleagues.

Our next dinner meeting will be held in Chicago on Sunday, November 16, 2014. Program details and location will be posted on the website as well as circulated through a newsletter. You are all cordially invited. Please encourage fellows-in-training to submit their work for the Young Investigators’ Awards. Please let us know what we can do to improve and strengthen your Organization.

Be sure to visit the AACIO website at www.aacio.org to update your information and to keep in touch. It is important that we have your current e-mail address in order to ensure that you receive the information that you need.

Warm Regards,

Kul Aggarwal, M.D., F.A.C.C.

AACIO newsletter has been published since the inception of our organization. This newsletter has served as a kaleidoscope through which we could see very clearly the reflection of the unfolding of an organization named AACIO from its very inception to a full fledged organization committed to advancing diagnostic and therapeutic measures to combat cardiovascular disease in USA and India through scientific meetings, scientific research and valuable abstract presentation by the fellow members and junior faculties of the organization, through recognition and honoring the stalwart members of the organization with pioneering research contributions, through outstanding lecture presentation by leaders in the field of cardiovascular innovation and over and above all by producing a forum for all of us to network with each other and with faculties from other disciplines of medicine – this newsletter is committed to be the voice of this organization.
So please all my fellow members of AACIO, I request you all to continue to contribute to the growth of your organization by submitting interesting articles and news items of scientific merit and your valuable thoughts and ideas to be circulated amongst all of us.
